About the Role
AptLok earns revenue from two primary streams: subscription fees from apartment communities using the mobile app and listing/marketing fees from builders showcasing properties on aptlok.com and YouTube. As Accounts Staff, you'll manage the financial operations that keep both revenue streams flowing smoothly — from raising invoices to apartment associations and builders, to tracking receivables, processing payroll, filing GST returns, and maintaining clean books that the founding team and investors can rely on.
You'll handle the nuances of both client types. Apartment communities pay monthly or quarterly subscriptions, often through bank transfers that need matching and reconciliation. Builders pay per-listing fees, video shoot charges, and premium placement fees that vary by project size and duration. You'll need to track all of this accurately, follow up on overdue payments diplomatically (these are relationship clients, not faceless transactions), and maintain clear financial records that support business decisions.
This is an ideal role for a commerce graduate or CA aspirant who wants hands-on experience in startup finance. Unlike large corporations where you'd manage just one ledger, here you'll touch every dimension — receivables from two client types, vendor payables (videographers, scouts, office expenses), employee payroll, compliance, and budgeting. It's a comprehensive crash course in business finance with real stakes.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and send invoices to apartment communities (app subscriptions) and builders (listing fees, video shoots, premium placements)
- Track receivables from both client types, follow up on overdue payments, and maintain cash flow records
- Process vendor payments — videographers, property scouts' reimbursements, office expenses, and service providers
- Handle monthly GST filing (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) and TDS compliance for all revenue streams
- Process monthly payroll, PF, and ESI calculations for the growing team
- Maintain books of accounts in Tally/QuickBooks and prepare monthly financial statements
- Support budgeting and financial forecasting as AptLok expands to new cities
- Coordinate with our CA firm for quarterly reviews and annual filings
Growth Path
Start with day-to-day bookkeeping across both revenue streams and grow into financial planning and analysis. As AptLok scales to multiple cities with more apartment communities and builder clients, you could evolve into a Finance Manager role overseeing multi-city operations, investor reporting, and fundraising support.
