Telangana's Indiramma Indlu CURE scheme offers Hyderabad's urban poor 1BHK flats for ₹6 lakh
Telangana launched the Indiramma Indlu CURE housing scheme on 20 July 2026, offering low-income Hyderabad families 528 sq ft 1BHK flats for a ₹6 lakh beneficiary contribution plus a ₹5 lakh government subsidy. Reports put applications above 60,000 for 7,340 flats across 16 assembly constituencies, with lotteries starting 27 August.
Telangana has launched the Indiramma Indlu CURE scheme, offering low-income Hyderabad families a 1BHK flat for a ₹6 lakh beneficiary contribution plus a ₹5 lakh government subsidy. The scheme, launched on 20 July 2026, targets households priced out of the city's private housing market, and demand has been heavy: reports put applications at more than 60,000 for 7,340 flats.
What the scheme offers
Each flat is a 1BHK unit in a high-rise block, with a 400 sq ft carpet area and 528 sq ft built-up area, comprising a hall, kitchen and one bedroom. The total unit cost is ₹11 lakh, split between a ₹5 lakh government subsidy and a ₹6 lakh beneficiary contribution paid in instalments. The state is providing the land free of cost. "CURE" refers to the Core Urban Region, the part of Hyderabad within the Outer Ring Road.
Who qualifies
Applicants must be permanent Hyderabad residents with an annual household income of up to ₹6 lakh. They must not own a flat or plot within the ORR limits. The first phase covers 16 assembly constituencies across the Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts.
Lottery and allotment
According to Siasat, Telangana Housing Board Vice Chairperson VP Gautham announced that the final beneficiary list would be published on 25 August and the lottery held from 27 August, running to 30 August. The draw is being conducted constituency by constituency, with reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and differently-abled applicants, and a waiting list of 20% of applicants per category.
Why it matters for Hyderabad's housing market
With Knight Frank data showing Hyderabad's weighted average residential price at ₹8,211 per sq ft in Q1 2026, a ₹11 lakh unit sits far below anything the private market offers in the core city. Applications of more than 60,000 for 7,340 flats — over eight per flat — show how large the affordability gap is at the bottom of the market. Government-built supply of this kind targets a different buyer from private mid-market projects, but it is a notable addition to housing inside the ORR.
